Stories of Change

When Trees Became a Safety Net for Livelihood
Facing uncertainty from unpredictable rainfall and crop losses, Vipul Bhatt from Choranda village, Karjan, adopted agroforestry through Cosmo Foundation’s Tree Plantation Drive. He received 227 mango saplings, organic inputs, and continuous training to nurture the plantation on his land. In the third year, the trees started bearing fruit, helping him earn an additional income of ₹45,000 despite challenges in seasonal farming. His journey reflects how sustainable farming practices can strengthen livelihoods, create financial security, and build resilience for farming families.

A Sanitation Block That Opened Doors to Education
Limited sanitation facilities at Shreeji Krupa Sarvajanik Vidhyalay, Koliya village, Karjan, created challenges for girl students, especially during menstruation, leading to frequent absenteeism and impacting their continued participation in education. With Cosmo Foundation’s support in building a dedicated sanitation block, the school created a safer and more comfortable learning environment. Today, as shared by Principal Mr. Vikramsinh Gohil, girl students’ enrollment has grown significantly, with female students now outnumbering boys. This journey reflects how access to basic infrastructure can promote dignity, confidence, and equal opportunities in education.
